Booking, pricing, deposits, collection and returning your gadgets.

1. About these terms
These terms explain rentals arranged with RENTZY in Malaysia. Please read them together with the product listing and the written booking confirmation sent to you. Ask us about anything unclear before agreeing to a rental.
2. Enquiries and booking confirmation
Browsing, checking dates and sending a WhatsApp enquiry do not reserve equipment. A booking is confirmed only when we expressly confirm it in writing and the agreed payment requirements are met.
Your confirmation identifies the gadget and included items, rental dates, agreed start and return times, collection or delivery arrangements, rental fee, stated gadget value, refundable deposit and any additional charges. Keep your confirmation.
3. Rental prices and longer-duration rates
Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). The daily rate for your rental length is shown in the product’s rate table and applies to every chargeable day. Different gadgets can have different duration rates. The refundable deposit and any delivery charge are separate from the rental fee.
The return date is not charged, with a minimum charge of one day. For example, Monday to Wednesday is two rental days. At RM50 per day, the rental fee is RM100. This example explains the date calculation; use your product’s actual rate table for its price. Collection and return times are agreed in your booking confirmation.
A change in rental length may change the applicable daily rate. We explain the revised amount before you accept a change. Later website price changes do not automatically reprice a confirmed booking.
4. Payment and refundable deposits
Payment is accepted by DuitNow or bank transfer. Use only payment instructions confirmed through our published business WhatsApp number. There is no online payment checkout on this website.
The default refundable security deposit is 33.33% of the equipment’s stated value, not 33.33% of the rental fee. A gadget may instead have a fixed RM deposit, shown on its product page. That listed amount takes precedence over the default percentage. The product page shows the exact deposit when a fixed amount or equipment value has been set. If it has not, we must state the gadget value and exact RM deposit before you confirm or pay. For a booking with multiple gadgets, we state each value and deposit and the combined total.
The deposit is separate from the rental fee. Equipment damage/loss deductions follow section 8, and total equipment damage/loss liability remains limited to the security deposit paid. We do not charge additional repair or replacement costs above that deposit for equipment damage or loss.
We inspect returned equipment within 24 hours. The undisputed deposit balance is refunded within two working days after inspection. We explain any deduction in writing with its category, percentage, RM amount and supporting condition evidence. A disputed deduction does not delay the undisputed balance. Rental fees, cancellation charges and late-return charges are separate from the equipment damage/loss cap.
5. Collection and delivery
Our service areas are Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Seremban. Contact hours are 8am–10pm (Malaysia time). Confirm the exact pickup or handover location, time and any delivery charge with us before booking. Service-area information does not mean delivery is free.
Collection location and time will be arranged when your booking is confirmed.
Ask us about delivery availability and charges for your location.
Check the gadget, included accessories and visible condition with us at handover. Tell us about missing items, existing damage or a fault promptly. Handover photographs and an accessory checklist may record the equipment’s condition.
6. Looking after the equipment
Use the equipment lawfully, for its intended purpose and in accordance with the supplied instructions. Keep it secure, protect it from unsuitable conditions and use suitable power supplies and accessories. Do not open, modify, repair or pass the equipment to another renter without our agreement.
You are responsible for having permission to use any games, music, films, software or other content you access. Equipment hire does not grant public-performance, broadcast or other content licences.
7. Return times, extensions and late returns
Return the gadget and all included items at the agreed place and time. Contact us before your return deadline if you need more time. Extensions depend on availability and written approval.
Late return is charged at 2× the gadget’s standard single-day rental rate per overdue calendar day (Malaysia time), rather than its discounted longer-rental rate. Every Malaysia calendar date during which the gadget is overdue counts as one late day, including part of a day. For example, a Monday 10pm deadline with a Tuesday 1am return touches two overdue calendar dates, so two late days are charged. The exact return deadline must be agreed in your booking confirmation. Charges remain subject to applicable consumer rights.
8. Damage, loss and missing accessories
Tell us promptly about a fault, accident, theft or loss. Stop using equipment that may be unsafe and do not arrange repairs without our approval.
The following fixed deductions apply to new damage or loss for which the renter is responsible. They are calculated from the security deposit actually paid for the booking:
Pre-existing marks and normal wear from careful use: no deduction; the deposit is returned in full.
New cosmetic damage, such as deep scratches or dents where the device still functions normally: 25% of the deposit is deducted; 75% is returned.
Repairable functional damage, where a damaged component affects normal operation: 50% of the deposit is deducted; 50% is returned.
Loss or damage beyond repair: 100% of the deposit is deducted. The deposit is retained in full and no deposit refund is due.
Condition is assessed against the handover record, return photographs and functional checks. Existing damage, normal wear and a fault the renter did not cause are not chargeable. We provide the assessed category and deduction in writing before applying it.
All equipment damage/loss deductions for the booking are capped at the security deposit paid. No additional repair or replacement charge is payable above that deposit. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
9. Cancellations, changes and refunds
Cancellation is free when you notify us at least 24 hours before the agreed rental start time. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start, the cancellation charge is 20% of the total rental fee. The refundable security deposit is excluded from that calculation.
For example, a RM200 rental cancelled within that 24-hour window has a RM40 cancellation charge. If the rental has not begun and the equipment has not been handed over, the security deposit is returned in full; it is not a cancellation penalty. Any remaining prepaid rental balance is refunded after the stated cancellation charge. We confirm the refund method and timing with you.
Request date changes or a shorter rental as early as possible; availability and any revised price must be confirmed with us. If we cannot provide the confirmed rental and you decline a suitable alternative, we refund amounts paid for the unprovided rental. This cancellation policy does not remove remedies for faulty equipment, an unprovided service or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Problems during your rental
Contact us promptly if the equipment is faulty or the agreed service has not been provided. Give us enough detail to investigate and discuss a reasonable solution, such as troubleshooting, a replacement where available, or an appropriate refund. Do not continue using unsafe equipment.
11. Your files, accounts and personal belongings
Back up your files and sign out of personal accounts before returning a device. Tell us if you need help removing your data. Avoid leaving payment credentials or private content on rented equipment. We will handle personal information under our Privacy Policy.
12. Consumer rights and responsibility
Nothing in these terms removes rights, guarantees, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Malaysian law. Responsibility for an incident depends on the circumstances and applicable law. These terms do not excuse our own unlawful conduct or impose liability on you for normal wear or a fault you did not cause.
13. Changes and disputes
The terms provided when a booking is confirmed apply to that booking unless both sides agree to a change consistent with applicable law. Updated website terms apply to future bookings and do not automatically change an existing agreement.
Please contact us first with any complaint so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by Malaysian law and do not prevent you from using an available consumer tribunal, regulator or court.
14. Contact us
